Description
Whether you call it a lamppost, street light, light pole or light standard, have you ever noticed when your’e looking up at it, just how many other wonderful and interesting things surround it or in this particular case standing behind it, a short distance away.
Like with all things, it’s how one looks at something and with this view of the lamppost it shows us a view of a much taller item.
In the background, standing proudly is the Calgary Tower or some still call the Husky Tower as it was originally named that upon its completion on June 30th, 1968 and at that time it claimed to be the tallest standing structure of its kind in North America. It was in 1971 that the tower was renamed the Calgary Tower.
It stands at a height of 190.8 meters (626 ft) and was one of the tallest structures in Calgary for a very long time.
