Description
This photograph shows us a pair of draft horses getting their tack removed at the end of their work day.
Since the domestication of horses they have been used for so many purposes, from entertainment, companionship, as well as probably one of the most important uses and that would be that of a working horse.
The draft horse is recognized by their muscular build and very tall stature. With an ability to produce a more straight upright stance and movement while pulling extremely heavy loads, as well for the plowing of fields. They have shorter backs along with very powerful hindquarters, and it makes for a perfect combination used for these purposes.
It is with a certain amount of selective breeding that has been used to develop such an array and variety of different horses, which have been a necessity used to perform many different types of work around the farm, including logging and the making of railroads, or simply pulling around a wagon filled with tourists through city streets or a beautiful park.

Thanks Julie! I agree, it was an honour and so peaceful to stand there and watch them get their tack removed after their working day had ended.
