Description
Well I must say that since I have seriously started to look much closer at the piles of Snirt that gather in our parking lots, the things I begin to see do amaze me at times. From all kinds of beautiful colours to an array of different shapes.
Including this pile… Am I the only one that sees an animal? You decide on your own which animal you see, lol.
I myself see a few different types of animals from this one separated pile of snirt.
Snirt became a new word that refers to the blend of snow and dirt - gravel mixture. Snirt can be seen quite often in parking lots and along the side of roads and curbs. I guess you can say it’s not quite snow, not quite dirt, so it’s “Snirt."
I know it’s weird, it was a few years back when I came across Snirt and the idea to start looking closer to this as it began to fill up the parking lots and one day I was walking through a lot on a fairly hot winter-spring type day and the sun was in the perfect spot to shine through the piles and edges of Snirt, which in turn turned these piles of gravel-dirt and plowed snow into a photograph that shined with colour and brightness.
When these piles and clumps of dirt begin to melt then freeze several times, they begin to take on so many different forms and textures. When one takes the time to lean down and look closely at these piles and small mountains of unwanted parking lot left over snow, you see something unique.
With more of the photographs I take of “Snirt” they become “Snirt-Art" that we all pass by on a winter’s day during our rush to get to the warmth of a building from our vehicle to avoid mother nature’s winter chill.
(Please note: The "Watermark" will not appear on final prints of the photograph.)
